What is Cold Laser Therapy?

Cold Laser at ProForm Physical Therapy is a Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) device.  LLLT has been scientifically proven to reduce pain, reduce inflammation, reduce swelling, and accelerate the healing process while strengthening damaged tissue. The purpose of cold laser therapy is to provide light energy (Infrared Laser Radiation), referred to as photons, to damaged cells. These photons are then absorbed by our cells in our soft tissue to stimulate mitochondria to produce additional ATP, which fuels cellular repair and regeneration. The cold laser therapy simply jump-starts the healing process and operates within a specific wavelength range that is non thermal (the “therapeutic window”), there is no risk of tissue damage or other complications.
