Annika Michaels, DPT, Physical Therapist


Dr. Annika holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University and a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Hartford in Connecticut.

Before embarking on her career as a physical therapist, Dr. Annika ran a fitness studio with her family in her hometown of Portland, Maine. There, she found her passion for functional fitness and holistic health that shapes her approach to physical therapy today.

As a physical therapist, Dr. Annika is committed to empowering her patients to live well in all aspects of their lives. She balances her evidence-based, integrative approach with gentle guidance, education and a sense of humor. She specializes in general orthopedics as well as sports medicine, drawing on her background as a former Division 1 collegiate athlete and personal trainer.  Dr. Annika is SFMA Level 1 certified and has also completed coursework in gait analysis, sports-specific rehabilitation, and kinesiotaping.
